Gigabyte introduce the world first motherboard capable of delivering up to 2000W through the CPU, thanks to the new Ultra Durable 5 components built with in addition to the new Gigabyte's PowIRstage technology.
A video leaked from the company, put the Gigabyte Ultra Durable 5 Z77X-UP7 motherboard on the test feeding the CPU socket with more than 2000W of power with a pair of 1200W OCZ PSU, and things remain stable, featuring a 32-phases of power regulation that mean one thing, an ultra high overclocking ability that will bring new overckloking record to the home.
According to Gigabyte, this is enough power to power 25 Core i7-3770K CPUs. As you might’ve gathered, you won’t actually be able to pull 2000W, but Gigabyte is simply trying to demonstrate how good their new Ultra Durable 5 motherboard design using PowIRstage’s is compared to their previous models.
