Fix failed kies update for Galaxy s2 i9100G easy steps

Hello Samsung fans, you are here cause you are in trouble with your Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone software update right ? Then at this article I will learn you the easiest way to fix your Galaxy S2 i9100G after a failed bad Android update using Samsung Kies software, this also fix an unflashable or soft bricked one for corrupted NAND rw ROM.

First thing is to download all needed files and ROM for the process:
  • Download Odin over here.
  • Download the PIT file for the Samsung Galaxy s2 i9100G from here.
  • Now you'll need to select and download the latest Galaxy s2 i9100G ROM at Sammobile here.
Note that this fix also work with any Galaxy s2 model including i9100, i9100M, i9100T, i9100P and other version but you only need to search download the related PIT and ROM for your smartphone.

Flashing the PIT file:
  • First of all make sure that your phone is charged.
  • Ok now open Odin and select the PIT file you've just downloaded with the PIT button, now check the Re-Partions option to clean any bad ROM part.
  • Connect your phone to the computer and make sure that all drivers are OK.
  • Now hit Start and wait, if everything pass, close Odin.
Note: if the process freeze at the "<ID:0/014> Initialzation.." step (like what happened to me) just power down the Galaxy S2, remove the battery, close Odin and start again.

If everything pass you should see this text as a log:
<ID:0/014> Added!!
<ID:0/014> Odin v.3 engine (ID:14)..
<ID:0/014> File analysis..
<ID:0/014> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/014> Initialzation..
<ID:0/014> Set PIT file..
<ID:0/014> DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!
<ID:0/014> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/014> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/014> Removed!!
<ID:0/014> Completed..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
<ID:0/014> Added!!

You must see something like this screen:

Now after a successful PIT flash, lets move on to the ROM section or OS part:

ROM flash:
  • Using the same software Odin browse the downloaded ROM using PDA button, don't check the Re-Partions option this time.
  • Now double-check if everything is fine (ROM file selected using PDA, auto reboot checked, F. Reset time checked and Re-Partions not) now say some prayers and hit START !
  • The process should start right away and it will take about 5 to 10 minute.
  • That's it when it finish your phone will restart automatically and boot to your new Android OS.
Note: for those who get the "Unknown Device" under windows, just try these tricks:
  • Update Kies.
  • Uninstall Kies and not the Driver.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Try different USB ports.
  • Try to removing the battery.
If all of the above doesn't help, just keep removing the battery, powering the phone, trying to disable and uninstall the "Unknown Device" on the device manager many times, for me that fixed the problem and it should work for you too.

Thats all your Samsung galaxy S2 should revive back and will work fine, if you find this tutorial helpful leave a comment bellow and share it with your friends.

  7. check:
    1. You are using an original quality USB lead.
    2. You are connecting directly to the computer and not through a usb hub.
    Try another usb port.
    update odin
    3. Kies is not running at the same time
If all the above are OK you need to get the correct PIT file for your phone and flash it with the firmware.
Put the PIT file into the PIT box
    Tick Re-partition
    But which PIT file?

    Depends upon your phone memory.
    Is it

    16GB
    32GB
