Haswell desktop and mobile CPUs first specs/configuration leaked

Scheduled to be released from March to June 2013, here are the first interesting information about the Haswell arch. based CPUs from Intel, details leaked at cpu-world demonstrating the configurations which Intel will provide for the desktop and mobile market.

Haswell is the successor to the intel's Ivy Bridge architecture using the same 22nm process technology but with an advanced new architecture, according to some sources the next generation of Intel Core microprocessors will be 10 percent faster than the current Ivy Bridge based cores, and the Intel's tick-tock continue, check out bellow a recap of some Haswell features:
  • A 22 nm manufacturing process.
  • 3D tri-gate transistors (Ivy Bridge processors and onwards).
  • A 14-stage pipeline (since the Core microarchitecture).
 New Features:
  • Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (AVX2) instruction set, also called Haswell New Instructions (includes gather, bit manipulation, and FMA3 support).
  • New sockets LGA 1150 for desktops and rPGA947 & BGA1364 for the mobile market.
  • Intel Transactional Synchronization Extensions (TSX).
  • Graphics support in hardware for Direct3D 11.1 and OpenGL 3.2.
  • DDR4 for the enterprise/server variant (Haswell-EX).
  • Up to 35MB of LLC cache.
The leaked information show that intel will provide many configuration setup, including two version for desktop uses, a dual core and quad version, using the GT2 graphics chip in addition to a dual-channel memory configuration support, for the laptops Intel will build a quad core based CPUs with a higher GT3 integrated graphics and a dual channel memory controller, in addition to a mainstream laptop products with a GT2 graphics and quad-core CPU, and of course an entry dual core , GT2 graphics and dual channel support CPUs.

Furthermore, the table show two ULT version which are Ultra Light and Thin products targeting tablets, notebook and ultra thin mobile products, one with a GT3 graphics, dual-core based which support up to 16GB of DDR3 using BGA socket and the lower version will pack a GT2 graphics chip and supporting only one channel of memory, the ULT products are supposed to to require 15W TDP.
