IDE Vs AHCI using SSD benchmark comparison under Linux

Guys over phoronix did a good test comparing two mostly used modes these days on SSD, we are talking about IDE and AHCI mode, the tests done under Linux operating system using SATA 3.0 standard, wish this was tested on the new SATA 6.0.

The disk used is an OCZ Vertex 3 Serial ATA 3.0 SSD connected to an Intel Z77 motherboard which is equipped with an Intel Core i7 3770K CPU, the AHCI add many features over IDE technology such as hot swapping and NCQ (Native Command Queuing).
