MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard specifications and new picture

After it appearance at CES 2012, the MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard spotted in another picture today at TPU, MSI Z77A-GD65 will support Intel Ivy Bridge based CPUs which is the latest unreleased technology from Intel, and using the new socket 1155.

  • Tri-gate transistor technology (less than 50% power consumption at the same performance level as 2-D planar transistors).
  • PCI Express 3.0 support.
  • Max CPU multiplier of 63 (57 for Sandy Bridge).
  • RAM support up to 2800MT/s in 200MHz increments.
  • Intel HD Graphics with DirectX 11, OpenGL 3.1, and OpenCL 1.1 support.
  • The built-in GPU is believed to have up to 16 execution units (EUs), compared to Sandy Bridge's maximum of 12.
  • A new random number generator and the RdRand instruction, which is codenamed Bull Mountain.
  • Intel Quick Sync Video.
  • DDR3L low voltage for mobile processors.

The picture seems to be from a French computer tradeshow, the new MSI motherboard feature the OC Genie II and support the world first 22nm processor which will be 20% faster than the current Sandy Bridge chip in addition to 50% less power consumption and of course that will result to a lower temperature, four DDR3 slots, there are three PCI Express x16 slots, the first one run at full x16 speeds but the two other run at 8x speed with SLI and crossfire support, in addition to four PCIe x1 slots.

Moving to the SATA connectors, the MSI Z77A-GD65 come with eight SATA ports with four SATA 6Gbps, two driven by the Intel Z77 chipset, and the other two SATA 6Gbps are controlled by a third-party chip, and four SATA 3Gbps, 9-phase VRM for CPU power, two USB 3.0 ports support.

Moving to the back panel, you will find a three video outputs (DVI, VGA, and HDMI) and an eSATA port in addition to the USB 3.0 in blue color and up to 7.1 audio outputs .

The price of the MSI Z77A-GD65 is still unknown and the release date is set to April 2012 along with the Intel Ivy Bridge launch .
