Playstation 4, Orbis GPU/CPU specifications leaked

This might be the news of the day, we're getting more and more close to the launch date of the Sony's next generation of home console the Playstation "4" or what the company want to call "Orbis", the gaming console will take appearance before the next E3 2013, some where on a Sony event.

About what's new now, games developers start receiving the development kit for the next PS4 codenamed "Orbis" from Sony, vg247 guys get some information about that, the new version of the kit is in form of a custom computer, with an AMD APU based core and 16GB or 32GB of RAM, and another version which will be shipped on January which will be more close to the final build which will be ready next summer.

They also grab info that the next Playstation console isn’t being made in Japan, what's next ? Made in China.

Sony's goal from the console is to get a Full-HD 1920x1080 resolution in 3D mode gaming at 60fps for all games, for the CPU and GPU of the Playstation 4, Sony confirm that the console will be based on the AMD’s A10 APU series, more specifications leaked from Sony according to the report about the Playstation 4, check the list bellow:

Specifications:

  • CPU/GPU: A derivative of the AMD’s A10 APU series.
  • RAM:  8Gb or more (according to the latest dev. kit)
  • Storage: 256GB SSD (that size is only available for SSDs).
  • Optical drive: Yes, Blu-ray reader.
  • Connection: Wifi, Ethernet, HDMI out, (not clear if there is USB 3.0 support).
  • Gameplay: Full-HD 1920x1080 gameplay in 3D stereo @60FPS.
  • Other: multi-task ability
