The details about the medium line of the next generation 600 series "Kepler" 28nm based graphic cards from Nvidia are just appeared on the web, on the spot light are the GeForce GT 640, GeForce GTX 650 and GeForce GTX 660 video cards

The specifications of these cards are for the GK107 GPU which is aimed for the GT 640, GTX 650 and also the mobile version GT 660M, this pack 384 CUDA cores and will likely replace the previous GTX 550Ti the price will be on the 130$ - 150$ range.

For the Nvidia GTX 660, it will be based on the GK106 GPU and will come with 768 CUDA cores, 64 texture units and 24 ROPs and a 192-bits wide bus interconnected with to 2GB of GDDR5 video memory, performance is expected to be faster than the GTX 560Ti, the price will be around 300$.

Flexible Plastic E-Paper LCD Display from LG is ready

Finally the day of we will touch the sci-fi movies technology is coming, today LG announce the start mass production of the world first Plastic E-Paper Display, its the first flexible display for public using liquid crystal display technology using an electronic paper display (EPD)  with size 6" XGA (1024 x 768) resolution with a thickness of 0.7 mm, LG promise with this innovation a new era for the E-Book with a lighter, thinner and flexible products, the new product will be ready and supplied to ODM companies in China, then, it will be released in Europe at the beginning of next month, bellow a press release from LG with more details.

Compared to glass EPD of the same size and resolution, LG Display's plastic EPD realizes a super slim thickness of 0.7 mm which is 1/3 slimmer than existing glass EPD; as well as a weight of 14g which is more than 1/2 lighter.

E-Book users have long expressed a desire for more durable EPD, since around 10% of them have damaged their product screens from accidentally dropping or hitting them. When LG Display's plastic EPD was put through repeated drop tests, from 1.5m above the ground or the average height of reading when standing, no damage resulted. When put through a break/scratch test involving hitting the display with a small urethane hammer, no scratches or breakage resulted.

PlayStation 4 "Orbis" specifications and release date leaks

This may be the most interesting news today or even this week, Sony one of the most and oldest gaming console manufacturer leaked more information about the next generation of its gaming console the Playstation 4 according to a Kotaku.com report from a trusted source.

The first info is that the Playstation 4 will code named "Orbis" which is derived from the Latin word for "circle" or "to circle/orbit" or a "sphere", and can be translated to a circle of lands, the second information is about the Playstation 4 hardware, the source confirm that the next Playstation 4 will be powered with both an AMD CPU and GPU, featuring an AMD x86-64 CPU and an AMD GPU using the all new GCN (Graphics CoreNext) AMD architecture, no details about using or not an unified SoC, but we highly guess that they will use a Fusion APU.

The sources say that the next generation console will support resolution up to 4096x2160 Ultra full-HD, this for sure will be used for multi-display gaming feature already available on PC platform, according to the rumor, the used GPU is a Southern Islands based used on the latest Radeon HD 7000 series, the last one is the release date, according to kotaku, the release date of the Playstation 4 will be for the holiday season, next year 2013, stay tuned for more leaks or official details.

Core i7 3770K overclocked to 7Ghz benchmark result

The folks over nordichardware managed to push the Intel's Ivy Bridge Intel Core i7-3770K CPU into the limits, they gets a whoping frequency close to 7Ghz using LN2 liquid cooling technique and here we must thanks the new cool 22nm technology.

The results are interesting of course, finish the Super Pi 1M, in 5.187 seconds @ 6961.6 MHz clock speed and when in 6650.1 MHz clock, the Super Pi 32M done in 5 minutes, 2.843 seconds, timing of the DDR3 memory is 7-11-7-28-1T installed on a ROG Maximus V Gene Z77 motherboard, bellow snapshots and benchmark result from nordichardware.

AMD Trinity A10-5800K vs A8-3850 first comparison benchmark leaked

A Chinese website leaked picture show benchmark results of the next AMD APU's based on the "Trinity" architecture A10-5800K, a four cores based APU uses 32nm process technology and use the Bulldozer based architecture for the processor chip and a VLIW4 for the GPU arch, the release date of this APU is expected to happen on June or July this year.

The AMD Trinity A10-5800K cores run @ 3.8GHz clock speed and can achieve 4.2GHz when in turbo boost mode on heavy applications, the new APU use 4MB of L2 cache memory, talking about the integrated GPU, its a Radeon HD 7660D packs 384 graphic stream processors, the TDP is around 100W.

The benchmark results show 9396Mark on 3DMark 2006, so compared with the AMD’s A8-3850 Llano-based APU, the next-gen A10-5800K is 50% faster on graphics performance, now take look at the benchmark comparison results between the AMD Trinity A10-5800K and the A8-3850 Llano-based courtesy of pceva forum.

MSI Radeon HD 7970 Lightning OC to 1.8Ghz core

A Swedish proverclocker Elmor managed to squeeze an MSI Radeon HD 7970 Lightning up to the clocks limits using a liquid nitrogen cooling solution, the default clock speed for the MSI lighting edition is 1070Mhz for the core, 5600Mhz effective GDDR5 speed.

The guy pushed up the core clock up to a whooping 1800MHz and the GDDR5 effective video memory up to 7.70GHz driving the memory bandwidth to 370 GB/s using 1.7V for the GPU feeding, the result is P15035 points on 3DMark 2011 on performance presets in combination with an Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition six core chip clocked @ 5207 MHz, check out the snapshot prove.

Ipad 3 Vs Ipad 2 Vs Iconia W500 performance test when browsing

The Apple Ipad 3 is now available on the markets next to a wide range of different tablets, talking about what is deferent between the available high-end tablets in term of performance and what is the best choice for you, the Ipad 3 come with an advanced Retina Display compared with the Ipad 2 with a higher resolution  DPI, and use an A5X chip which is supposed to be better than the A5 chip on the Ipad 2, but the Ipad 3rd Gen is nothing but an Ipad 2 with a higher density of pixels on the screen  wich is noticable only when you have an 230x microscope, according to the leaked benchmark.

This is confirmed after the leaked browser benchmark from Futuremark using it's browser performance test tool Peacekeeper based on HTML5 technology for mobile devices, comparing the score result of the Ipad 3 with the Ipad 2,  Acer Iconia W500, Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Ipad 3 score the same result as the previous generation and the Acer Iconia W500 take the first place, simply if you are planing to upgrade your Ipad 2, better spend your money on an another experience such as a Windows or Android based device, and if you don't own an Ipad and planing to buy one, go ahead and chose the Ipad 3.

Radeon HD 7990 first specification

The first information regarding the next dual GPU graphic card from AMD take its appearance on an Asian website INPAI, the website leak the first specification of the card which feature two 28nm "Tahiti" GPUs.

According to the Asian source, the AMD Radon HD 7990 Dual-GPU will come with two "Tahiti" processors clocked at 850Mhz each one, and with 1250 MHz (or 5.00 GHz effective clock) for the video memory, the "Tahiti" GPUs pack 2048 Graphics CoreNext stream processors, resulting 4096 stream processors, 128 TMUs, 32 ROPs, thats horse power performance will need around 400TDP to feed these hungry two monsters inside,  the two GPUs are interconnected with lot of 6GB of GDDR5 (3GB per GPU) using 384-bit wide memory bus for each GPU, AMD will release the first Radeon HD 7990 dual-GPU graphic card next month as expected, and the price tag is unknown but we guess that it will cost you about 1000$ to 1100$.

GTX 680 SLI first benchmarks appearance

After the single card benchmarks we posted few days ago, today we spotted the first SLI benchmark testes pictures of the upcoming Nvidia flagship GTX 680 graphic card, taking appearance at VrZone.

 The snapshots show benchmark results with 2-way SLI configuration using 3DMark 2011 in Entry, Performance, and extreme presets, test bed use an Intel Core i7-3930K@5.00 GHz and 16 GB of quad-channel DDR3-2133 MHz memory, ASUS ROG Rampage IV Extreme motherboard, the Nvidia GTX 680 on the spot spec'd with up to 1150 MHz core frequency, 7.20 GHz effective GDDR5 clock

Compared with the AMD Radeon HD 7970 in  Extreme preset, the red one in Crossfire mode give a 3DMark 2011 score around X5200 Mark, while the green 28nm based GTX 680 will result X6243 Mark, so with the same or even lower price you can get better results, check out the benchs bellow.
